Estimated in-hospital mortality: ~0.3%. Standard ward management appropriate. Optimise bronchodilators (SABA + SAMA), controlled oxygen therapy (target SpO₂ 88–92%), and systemic corticosteroids (prednisolone 30–40 mg for 5 days). Antibiotics if purulent sputum or clinical signs of infection.
